On July 1, 2009, at 8:30 p.m., Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call regarding a sick or injured person lying on the ground in the 8400 block of Florin Road. Deputies arrived and found a man, later identified as a 52-year-old Sacramento resident, who was bleeding from his head and barely breathing. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he remains on life support; he is not expected to survive.
Sheriff’s Homicide detectives responded to the scene and spoke to several subjects who said the victim had been beaten during a fight earlier in the day. At this point, investigators have not identified the suspect(s) who was involved in the fight or a motive for this crime.
