Worker Killed Underneath Curtis Park Home

A pest control worker was killed today while working underneath a Curtis Park home. The Sacramento Fire Department was called at 1:27 P.M. for a report of a man trapped underneath the front porch of a home. Sacramento Fire Department Medic 6 arrived 1 minute later and found the victim pinned by a large slab of concrete that had collapsed, under the front porch.

Firefighters went to work trying to extricate the victim. Air bags were used to lift the concrete slab off of the victim. It is estimated that the slab weighed at least one thousand pounds. Unfortunately the worker did not survive this tragic accident.

CAL OSHA is on scene and will be conducting the investigation into this accident.
