The Citrus Heights Police Department will be conducting a DUI Checkpoint THIS FRIDAY, May 15, 2009, between the hours of 7:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. at the intersection of Auburn Blvd. and Twin Oaks.
DUI / Drivers License Checkpoints involve vehicles being stopped randomly as they drive through a specific location. Drivers are briefly contacted to determine if they are impaired; and/or licensed. Unlicensed drivers may have their vehicle towed. Those drivers found to be under the influence are arrested. The goal is to improve traffic safety by removing impaired and unsafe drivers from our roadways.
Motorists are reminded to utilize a designated driver and to not drink and drive.
Funding for this DUI Checkpoint comes from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
