Attempted Abduction At Orangevale Elementary School

On May 20, 2009, at 2:54 p.m. Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the report of an attempted child abduction at the Green Oaks Fundamental School in Orangevale. Deputies spoke to an 8-year-old female student who told them as she came out of a school restroom, after school had been dismissed, a man tried to grab her and then he ran away when she broke away from his grasp.

The victim was only able to describe the suspect as a male adult (unknown race), approximately 5’10’’ tall, weighing between 150 and170 pounds, with dark gray hair and wearing red knee-length shorts.

The school has notified the parents of their students of the incident and there will be a Sheriff’s Department’s Safe School deputy and school district personnel on campus on Thursday, May 21, 2009, to ensure everyone’s safety and to respond to questions.
