Two Alarm Fire Driven By High Winds

March 29, 2009 - At approximately 3:30 pm Sac Metro Firefighters arrived at 10601 Lambrusca dr. to encounter a home heavily involved with fire being pushed by high winds. A second alarm was requested to deal with the potential of fire spread to adjacent homes and assist in battling the wind driven structure fire. Over 40 fire fighters brought the fire under control in 27 minutes. 5 people were displaced and the Red Cross was called to assist. One of the occupants was sent to the hospital suffering from breathing problems. The estimated structural loss is $200,000.00 and the fire cause is currently undetermined.

A working smoke alarm was in place. Metro Fire wants to remind all of our community that a working smoke alarm is still one of the best defenses against a home fire.
