Parolee At Large Arrested

Sunday afternoon, Roseville Police officers arrested a parolee at large who has eluded capture for the past six months.

At about noon on Sunday, March 15, Roseville Police officers stopped a white Dodge Ram pickup on eastbound Interstate 80 at the Rocklin Road exit. Officers had been searching the area for parolee-at-large Samuel Duran, and believed he was a passenger in the back seat of the pickup.

When the pickup stopped, Duran exited the back seat and ran up the freeway embankment onto Rocklin Road, with officers giving chase. A brown Toyota sedan, occupied by two females, was stopped at a red light on Rocklin Road. Duran got into the back seat of the Toyota and ordered the two females out, but officers pulled him out of the Toyota and arrested him.

Samuel Nathan Duran, 28, of Roseville was booked into the Roseville City Jail on suspicion of attempted carjacking and resisting arrest. He was also arrested on an outstanding Placer County arrest warrant stemming from an October 5 incident in Roseville. The warrant charged attempted robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, infliction of great bodily injury, particpating in a criminal street gang, and a recommended sentence enhancement for a prior prison term. Duran is currently being held in the Placer County Jail on a no-bail parole hold. Two occupants of the white Dodge Ram pickup were arrested for being accessories: Margarita Elena Ydrogo, 26, of Roseville and Adam Solis Valdez, 27, of Sacramento. They were both booked into the Roseville City Jail and released after posting $5,000 bail bonds.
