PG&E Uses Helicopters To Upgrade Power Lines In Sacramento

PG&E will begin using helicopters today as part of an ongoing project to upgrade overhead transmission lines between West Sacramento and Folsom Blvd. in Sacramento. The helicopter work will continue through mid-March along American River Parkway and Garden Highway next to the American River.

Helicopters are typically used in areas that are difficult to access for trucks and in environmentally sensitive locations. They are also a fast and efficient method for this type of project. The new power lines will improve reliability and help PG&E serve the growing energy needs of the Sacramento Valley.
