CHP Tour Bus Inspections At Thunder Valley Casino

On Wednesday February 3rd, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Valley Division Commercial Enforcement Unit (CEU) conducted Tour Bus inspections at the Thunder Valley Casino (south parking lot area) in Lincoln, California. A total of thirteen tour buses were inspected. A total of 74 violations were documented and ten of the thirteen busses were placed out of service due to mechanical violations. The following is a list of documented violations:

Driver log book - 7
Registration - 6
Steering - 3
Steering (out of service) - 3
Brakes - 11
Brakes (out of service) - 6
Lighting - 6
Lighting (out of service) - 2
Wheels - 2
Tires - 4
Other Violations - 22
Operating Authority - 2

Thunder Valley Executive Director of Security, Duane Ryzner authorized the Tour Bus inspections and expressed his appreciation regarding the safety concerns for the approximate 400 passengers being transported on the thirteen busses. "We are grateful Thunder Valley brought these busses to our attention, and for the opportunity to note needed repairs before the busses proceeded any further down the road," commented Chief Stan Perez, who oversees the CHP's Valley Division. "This inspection represents a renewed emphasis and public-private partnership, aimed at ensuring all commercial vehicles operating in the Sacramento region are carried out in the safest possible manner."
