Two Alarm Fire Damages Pet Store
On January 19, 2009 at approximately 11:45pm the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District arrived at 4534 Auburn blvd to find to a commercial building involved with fire. A second alarm was called to combat the fire and to rescue the animals. Over Forty Fire Fighters were involved in the incident. Several birds died as a result of smoke inhalation. The rest of the animals were moved to a place of safety. Metro Fires Arson unit is unable to rule out electrical as a cause. The structural damage is estimated at $100,00.00 and the contents at $250,000.00.
