The Roseville Police Department, Rocklin Police Department, and the Lincoln Police Department are working in conjunction with the State of California Alcoholic Beverage Control to combat alcohol related violations in the South Placer County Area. The agencies were awarded a grant from the Alcoholic Beverage Control to conduct various types of operations in all three cities for the 08-09 Fiscal Year. Officers from the agencies work each operation together, strengthening partnerships and provided a directed enforcement approach and education opportunity for residents in South Placer County.
On January 20th, 2009, Officers from the Rocklin, Roseville, and Lincoln Police Departments worked with Investigators from the Alcoholic Beverage Control and conducted Shoulder Tap Operations in the Cities of Rocklin and Lincoln, targeting subjects who buy alcoholic beverages for minors. The minors are truthful about their age and tell the subjects that they are not 21 years old.
In the City of Rocklin, we conducted the operation at 4 separate locations. Our decoy contacted 14 subjects and 4 adults purchased alcoholic beverages for our minor and each were cited for furnishing alcohol to a person under the age of 21, a violation of 25658(a) BP.
In the City of Lincoln, we conducted the operation at 4 separate locations. Our decoy contacted 35 subjects and 1 adult purchased alcoholic beverages for our minor and was cited for furnishing alcohol to a person under the age of 21.
These Operations will continue each month through June 2009. To date, we have contacted a total of 415 individuals at 40 locations and issued citations or arrested 28 people in Shoulder Tap Operations. We have visited 113 locations and cited 14 people in Minor Decoy Operations.
