On January 12, 2009, at 7:29 p.m., Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the report of a robbery at a video game store located in the 8200 block of Calvine Road. An employee of the store called 9-1-1 to report the business had been robbed at gunpoint by three black male adults. Deputies, assisted by officers from the Sacramento Police Department and the Elk Grove Police Department quickly saturated the area and located the getaway vehicle on Boron Way, approximately one-half mile from the scene of the robbery. An hour-long search of the surrounding neighborhood resulted in the apprehension of three adult male suspects: 18-, 19-, and 22-years-old. A 17-year-old male juvenile, believed to be the getaway driver, was also taken into custody. Weapons used in the robbery were recovered in the getaway vehicle.
Investigators believe these suspects may be responsible for at least five recent game store robberies since December 20, 2008; including three in Sacramento County, and one each in the cities of Sacramento, and Elk Grove. Detectives also believe there’s a possibility the suspects are tied to other area robberies as well.
Anyone with information regarding any of these robberies is urged to call detectives at (916) 874-5115.
