Residential Burglary Interrupted; One Arrested

A Sacramento man was arrested and a woman is being sought after a Granite Bay resident
arrived home Tuesday morning and found the thieves leaving his home.

When Placer County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the residence on Red Bud Road in Granite
Bay the suspects had fled. Using the suspects’ vehicle license plate that the homeowner wisely
obtained, an alert was issued to all law enforcement agencies in the surrounding area.

A Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputy located the suspects’ vehicle in North Highlands and
made a traffic stop. Stephawn Maurice Bobbit, 22, was arrested and booked into Sacramento
County Jail for possession of methamphetamine for sale and was also placed on a parole hold.

Working with Placer County Sheriff’s detectives, the burglary victim identified Bobbit as the suspect who stole items from his home. A female suspect, Siatua Mataafa, 30, of Sacramento, was also identified by the homeowner as participating in the burglary. A warrant has been issued for her arrest on charges of burglary and conspiracy.

Bobbit will face charges in Placer County after his release from Sacramento County. The investigation is ongoing.
