Officer Involved Shooting In Lincoln

On Thursday, January 1st, City of Rocklin and California Highway Patrol (CHP) law enforcement officers were investigating an armed robbery at an AM/PM gas station in Rocklin. At 1:15 a.m., CHP officers spotted a vehicle matching the suspect’s vehicle at the corner of Twelve Bridges Drive and Colonnade in Lincoln.

CHP and Rocklin law enforcement attempted to stop the vehicle, but the suspect did not stop and led the officers on a short pursuit. The suspect vehicle finally stopped at a dead end street near the corner of Sun Valley Loop and Fairway Valley Lane, the suspect exited the vehicle with a gun, and officers shot the suspect in self defense. The suspect, a 55-year-old male from Fair Oaks, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The City of Lincoln Police Department and the Placer County District Attorneys Office are investigating the officer-involved shooting. The City of Rocklin Police Department and California Highway Patrol will hold their own separate administrative investigations.
