Home Invasion In Camino

January 13, 2009 at 3:15 PM, El Dorado County Sheriff Deputies, responded to a 911 hang up on the 4000 block of Carson Road in Camino. Upon arrival, the deputy discovered he had interrupted a robbery (home invasion) in progress inside the residence. The suspects had fled out the rear of the residence. The deputy chased after the suspects and saw them climbing over a fence in the backyard.

Both of the suspects were dressed in law enforcement clothing, which consisted of duty belt with gun, badge, vest and a jacket with “SHERIFF” lettering on it.

One of the suspects tripped and his gun fell to the ground. The suspect left the gun and continued to flee. The suspects split up after jumping the fence and ran in different directions. The deputy focused his attention on the suspect, which still had a weapon and continued his chase. The suspect began taking off his law enforcement duty belt as he ran from the deputy. The deputy caught the suspect after jumping fences and crossing through a creek. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.

One of the victims with help from several neighbors caught the second suspect and detained him for law enforcement.

The jacket worn by one of the suspects had Placer County Sheriff’s Department patches. Two handguns were recovered at the scene. One was a 22 caliber and the other was a replica BB type weapon.

The victims were not injured during the incident. The motive behind the home invasion is under investigation.

The suspects have been identified as Harvey Baker, 47 years of age from Sacramento and Alexios Alexander, 40 years of age from Sacramento. Both were arrested and booked in county jail on 8 felonies to include robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy, kidnapping and are being held without bail.
