Detectives Arrest ATM Burglary Suspect

Shortly after 2:00 a.m. on December 30, 2008, an ATM machine was burglarized at the Safe Credit Union located at 7883 Walerga Road. The suspect used a metal bar in an attempt to pry open the ATM machine. Although he was unsuccessful in gaining access to the cash inside of it, he caused significant damage to the machine.

Following a public appeal for information regarding the identity of the suspect, whose image was captured on the ATM machine’s security camera, Sheriff’s Burglary detectives received a tip which led to the arrest of a 15-year-old juvenile suspect on January 13, 2009. The boy is a resident of Antelope.

After being interviewed by detectives, the suspect was charged with burglary and booked into Juvenile Hall.
