Attempted Robbery

Suspect: Matthew Lynn Foster, 22 years old, 1260 Live Oak Lane, Auburn, CA

On 09-26-08, there was an attempted robbery at the Long’s Drugs on Elm Ave in Auburn, CA. On the same day the suspect committed an armed robbery at the Loomis Raley’s. On 10-05-08 the suspect committed another armed robbery at a Rite-Aid pharmacy in Roseville. These robberies appeared to be facilitated by the same suspect. The Auburn PD Investigation Division worked together with the Roseville PD Investigations Unit and the Placer County Sheriff’s Office Investigation Unit to resolve these robberies.

Today, 01-09-09, a search warrant was executed at Matthew Foster’s residence in reference to this investigation. The search warrant was served by the Placer County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team. The SWAT team secured the residence and arrested Matthew Foster. Once the residence was secured, investigators searched the location and recovered evidence associated with these robberies.

Matthew Foster was booked into the Placer County Jail for attempted robbery and robbery. He is being held on $500,000 bail.

This investigation is still ongoing.
