The victim, Conner McCarthey of Sacramento, advised that he had been at the Red Hawk Casino for most of the night with friends. As they were leaving late last night, the vehicle he was riding in broke down. McCarthy stayed with the vehicle and attempted to repair it while the other occupants left. This morning, McCarthy flagged down a vehicle in an attempt to obtain assistance. The vehicle he flagged down was occupied by two male subjects and one female subject. After assisting McCarthey for several minutes, one of the two male subjects struck McCarthey and then threatened to shoot McCarthey. The three suspects then robbed McCarthey of several items of personal property. As the suspect’s left in their vehicle, McCarthey called 911 and gave dispatchers a description of the suspect vehicle and the occupants of the suspect vehicle.
Deputies responding to the call spotted a vehicle matching the description given by McCarthey traveling westbound Hwy 50 at the Bass Lake grade. With the assistance of Folsom PD and CHP, El Dorado Sheriff’s Deputies made a felony stop on the suspect vehicle near Hwy 50 and Prairie City Road. The vehicle was occupied by three subjects matching the description given by the victim. Inside the car, Deputies found the property reported as stolen by the victim.
