Vehicle Pursuit And Burglary Arrest

On 12-16-08 at about 1:40 P.M. a vehicle burglary occurred behind Long’s Drugs at 4785 Granite Drive in Rocklin. Rocklin PD Officers located the suspect vehicle in the area. It was discovered that the suspect vehicle was reported stolen recently out of Roseville. A vehicle stop was attempted and the suspect vehicle fled the scene leading Rocklin PD Officers on a high speed pursuit. The suspect vehicle entered W/B Hwy 80 and attempted to evade officers. The police pursuit was terminated and it was discovered thereafter that the suspect vehicle left the roadway on Hwy 80 at Atlantic Street where it collided with a tree.

The driver and passenger fled the vehicle on foot. The passenger was arrested in the area with the assistance of the Roseville Police Department. The passenger was not injured from the collision. The driver was not located.

Some stolen property was located inside the stolen vehicle, including a GPS device. It is believed that these individuals may be connected with other thefts in the Rocklin area. Anyone with any information regarding this incident or any possibly related thefts is requested to contact the Rocklin Police Department.

Arrested: Timothy Simmons age 30 from North Highlands. Simmons was arrested and booked into the Placer County Jail for burglary and possession of stolen property.
