Murders-Suicide

At 10:40 a.m. on Monday, December 1, 2008, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon on the 8700 block of Rooster Way. According to information from the Sheriff’s Communications Center, two adults and two children, all victims of a shooting, were located inside the residence.

At 10:43 a.m. deputies arrived and located five victims inside the residence, two adults (30’s) and three small children. Four of the victims were pronounced deceased at the scene by Sacramento Metro Fire Personnel. One victim, a child, suffering from a gunshot wound to her upper torso was transported to the UC Davis Medical Center to be treated.

UPDATED Based on information from the Sacramento County Coroners Office and Sheriff’s Homicide investigators, yesterday’s tragic events on Rooster Way have been determined to be a murder-suicide. The surviving 3-year-old victim is recovering from surgery and is expected to survive; although she will face an extensive recovery period.

The suspect, identified as 33-year-old Ying Moua is responsible for the deaths of his wife, 32 year old Bouavanh Moua, and their two year-old twins, Matthew and Alexis. After shooting all the victims, the suspect then took his own life. Investigators are not looking for any other suspects related to this case.
