Thanksgiving Day Homicide Suspect Arrested

On December 6, 2008, the Sacramento Police Department’s Homicide Unit arrested
25-year-old Jules Anthony Gholar for the murder of Augusta James.

On Thursday, November 27, 2008, at 2:23 a.m., the Sacramento Police Department
responded to the 4000 block of 35th Street regarding a subject who had been shot. Officers located 32-year-old Augusta James suffering from multiple gun shot wounds. The victim was transported to U.C. Davis Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.

On December 1st, the Sacramento Police Department’s Homicide Unit submitted an arrest warrant for 25-year-old Jules Anthony Gholar for the murder of Augusta James. It is believed that the murder was a result of an argument between Gholar and James.

On December 6, 2008, at 11:53 a.m., suspect Jules Anthony Gholar submitted himself into police custody without incident at police headquarters.
