The Drowning Accident Rescue Team (D.A.R.T.) will be conducting night training exercises on Tuesday, December 9th at the confluence of the American and Sacramento Rivers at Tiscornia Park. Divers will be entering the water at 6:00 pm. Training will run from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
The purpose of the training is to prepare divers for emergency search and rescue operations in winter weather, low temperature, and low-light conditions. The team would additionally like to emphasize safety concerns when driving in fog and rainy conditions around our local waterways.
The Drowning Accident Rescue Team (D.A.R.T.) is an all-volunteer non-profit 501(C)(3) organization. The team responds to water rescue and recovery situations involving individuals, vehicles, and evidence in many different dangerous situations. The team averages over 100 calls per year and the team responds whenever called without compensation. The team has been providing this service to Northern California for over 20 years and is the only public safety dive team providing services to Sacramento and Yolo counties.
