A two alarm fire destroyed two upstairs apartment units of a Downtown Victorian apartment building. Sacramento Firefighters received the call around 3:16 P.M. this afternoon and were on scene in two minutes. They encountered heavy fire conditions of the third floor of the building. The fire threatened two separate buildings on each side of the fire building. A second alarm was requested.
Firefighters were able to aggressively attack the fire on the upper floor and contain it to that portion of the building. If not for the quick response and the number of Firefighters that initially responded, this could have been much worse.
There have been no reports of injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation. The West Sacramento and Sacramento Metro Fire Departments also responded.
