On November 9, 2008, at 5:54 p.m. Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call from the fire department to assist them on a call reporting a man down inside his residence in the 9000 block of Salmon Falls Drive. Deputies arrived and found the 52-year-old victim lying in the living area of the residence. The man was unconscious, unresponsive, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Neighbors first discovered the victim when they went to his residence to visit. When he did not answer his door, they looked through the front window and saw him lying motionless on the floor. They entered the home and when they were unable to wake up the victim they dialed 9-1-1. Neighbors told deputies the victim had lived alone in the duplex since June of 2007.
According to the deputies who entered the scene there were no obvious signs of trauma to the victim’s body. However, the death is considered to be suspicious in nature and will be investigated by Sheriff’s Homicide detectives until a cause and manner of death is determined by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
