Helicopter ‘Tops Off’ Completion Of The Citizen Hotel

A helicopter will put the finishing touches on The Citizen Hotel by hoisting up the last batch of materials and furnishings to be installed in the top floors. With the completion of this “topping off” task, The Citizen is officially completed and poised to open this November 30.

The helicopter is necessary because some materials are too big to be transported from the ground floor up. These include mirrors for The Citizen’s gym and a tent that can be used to cover the open-air seventh-story terrace overlooking downtown Sacramento. Available for weddings, parties and all kinds of celebrations, the Metropolitan Terrace is one of many exciting event venues The Citizen will be adding to Sacramento.

The helicopter will land on J Street between 9th & 10th Streets before moving approximately 15 loads of equipment onto the building. J Street will be closed to traffic for approximately one hour.

Saturday, Nov. 15th at 7:45 a.m.
