Early Morning Apartment Fire In North Sacramento

Sacramento- an early morning fire in a North Sacramento apartment complex caused extensive damage to an apartment laundry room. The fire came in shortly after 4:30 A.M. and Rescue 20 arrived on scene in a little over 5 minutes. Engine 20 was on it’s scheduled “closure day” (brown out), so the first in Fire Engine was Engine 19, which arrived in about 7 minutes.

Firefighters found heavy fire from a ground floor laundry room endangering apartment units on both sides, and above the laundry room. A second alarm was requested. According to Battalion Chief Rusty Van Vuren, “Firefighters did an excellent job stopping this fire from spreading to the nearby apartment units”.

There have been no reported injuries and all residents will be able to return to their apartment units.
