Event: Child Found in Neighborhood Creek in Critical Condition
Location: 20800 Block Willow Springs Dr., West, Soulsbyville
Victim: 2 year old female child-name withheld
Date/Time of Incident: Sept. 9, 2008/1800 hours
Date of Press Release: Sept. 10, 2008

SUMMARY
At 1800 hours yesterday we received a 911 call from a frantic mother who reported finding her 2 year old daughter non responsive floating in a neighborhood creek. The child's father started CPR and continued his efforts until the medics arrived. The medics transported the child to SRMC and from there the child was flown to an out of county facility.

From information we received at the scene, the child was out of the parents' sight for only a couple of minutes. When they didn't see her they immediately ran to the area of their yard that borders the creek. The creek is only partially protected by a metal mesh fence-allowing for child access.

The Sheriff's Office has been told the condition of the child is "grim;" other than that, we have no further information as to her condition.
